My Dj Career
Man i don't know where my love came from for deejaying but it just started basically overnight. From listening to my dad play music , to in a room by myself for hours playing music, i always wanted to be around music. My first experience with deejaying was at one of my extended families New Years Party. As i watch the two deejays of Revolution Sound use the software Virtual Dj i was in amazement of deejaying. Their was no use of turntables or mixers just the computer and the speakers. I thought to myself, i have to get this software. It took a while to get it from trial versions to the real thing, however once i got the real thing, i was on my way. From about 2005-2008 i struggled as a dj. Deejaying wasn't as easy as i thought. Yes i did have this powerful software but knowing the right songs to play was alot of work. You must know the right song that will get the crowd going, then play the right mix that will make the crowd get going crazy. It took my a while to figure that out. I had second thoughts about deejaying for a while. However i kept practicing and i got better. From deejaying at the 2009 Bare Az You Dare, i open up for Dj Dirty Ant & Dj DreSmoove. It was a start that gave me confidence in deejaying. However i got mixed reviews i still was excited about my performance. Later on that year i deejayed at a house party. I deejayed the whole party by myself. One a scale 1-10 i got a 9. I was on my way from there. I started my sophomore year and i really didn't have any gigs my first semester. I deejayed a couple of parties, which gave me a lot of experience to start deejaying by myself. Once my second semester started, i was determine to takeova the dj game in Huntsville. My first party by myself was at Club Xclusive. It was a mixed crowd which involved Oakwood and A&M students. So i had to figure out a way to mix a good bit of Reggae music and hip-hop. the night ended up great. I had the club going crazy, tables were flipped and chairs were knocked over. From there my celebrity started to grow. My next party was the next weekend at Xclusive I went in for the Delta Gamma Alphas for there party. From that night on i was being booked left and right. From the AKA's and Alpha's to many other different groups on campus i was deejaying almost everyday. Only thing holding me back now is my equipment. Once i obtain speakers and better my equipment, my possibilities are endless. By the end of this summer i should have everything i need to become one of the hottest deejays in Huntsville.
